Chamber helps Wilmington businesses go green
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wednesday, the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce announced a new partnership with Green Plus, the program helps businesses become more sustainable.
Businesses in Wilmington are able to sign up, for a cost of $350. After completing a survey they will receive feedback and instruction from sustainability coaches. They will then get help launching new practices, then they will become certified.
Leaders say, becoming sustainable, helps businesses to do better.
"Being a sustainable business is the same as being a successful business, in the sense that you are not wasting and therefore not wasting money," said Chris Carmody.
Green Plus is already working with the Wilmington Airport.
