WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A precautionary boil water advisory went into effect Sunday, Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. for portions of Sunset Park, according to a news release.

CFPUA conducted emergency water valve repair work in the area until about 6 p.m. Sunday.

Residents in the following areas may experience periods of low or no pressure:

1805 Adams St., 1800 block Pine St.,  100 block North Carolina Ave., 1800 block Waddell St.,  1800 and 1900 blocks of Burnett Blvd., 200 block South Carolina Ave. and all of Woodbine Street.

Once water service is restored, officials encourage residents to bring their water to a rolling boil for one minute prior to consumption.

The precautionary boil water advisory will be lifted after tests are done to make sure the water is back to normal. Officials say this will take about 24 hours.
